I would like to share a bit about my craft and myself with you. I was raised and educated in Pennsylvania. My teachers saw a potential for art early in my educational career and put me in art classes as soon as they could. Eventually, I attended the Pennsylvania School of Art and Design and The Colorado Institute of Art. I received my Associates in Commercial Arts from Pennsylvania School of Art and Design.

I was about 20 years old when I started tie dying. The craft caught my eye after a trip to Africa and several Grateful Dead concerts. I decided to give it a try. This attempt grew into a multi-interest craft. I have been tie dying, air brushing and batiking since then. Tie dying is a process by where the cloth is folded carefully and dye is placed strategically on cloth to create a pattern. Batik is the process by where you place wax on a material and dye over the wax to create a design or pattern.

I work hard to personalize every design I create. The tie dye designs are very time consuming, and they can take up to four hours to create. Batiks can take years to complete. Factors such as the number of points on a mandala, the color patterns on the cloth, and the theme of a piece of art must be completely thought out before I can pick up the cloth.

Every piece of cloth that comes from my business has been hand crafted. No machinery and/or silk screen processes are used on the shirts. The folds, ties and dyes are all applied by hand. When you receive a shirt, know that much hard work has gone into creating your wearable art. Wear it with love. Peace!
